Where Are Srixon Irons Made? Japan or USA?

If you’re a golf enthusiast, you are probably wondering why most clubs are made in China.

If you don’t know, the majority of these golf accessories have their root in China, with the USA only taking part in a few of the manufacturing such as shaft production and some irons.

Like other popular brands, Srixon has been on the scene for a while. And for all the right reasons.

They make some of the most popular golf balls out there and even best-selling clubs.

Which most likely means they’re getting the quality right in their clubs/balls.

But one often wonders, where is this equipment made? Are they made in China and shipped to the US?

What are important things you should know about the brand’s antecedent that can help shape your future buying decision? Let’s look at a few of these things.

So, first things first:

Where Are Srixon Irons Made?

Where Are Srixon Irons Made

Most Srixon irons are made in Japan. Some of their wedges, wood, etc., are manufactured in China.

I’ve not come across any information (official and non-official) that states any of Srixon’s clubs are manufactured in America.

Does that affect the quality, considering they are also cheap? Not really.

As I mentioned above, the quality and material of Srixon clubs are quite good.

The reason Srixon and other brands don’t bring the production of their clubs to the USA hinges on labor costs.

The cost to make golf clubs is usually very low in China.

This is also true of Japan compared to what is obtainable in the USA.

This is why so many of the Srixon clubs are cheap.

Of course, there are brands that have clubs being made in the USA (I think Ping is one of them) but you can’t compare the cost of one of their golf accessories with that of Srixon.

If you’re looking to save a lot of cost on a bag full of clubs, Srixon is the way to go.

Is Srixon a Japanese Brand?

Yes, Srixon is a Japanese brand. This is because Srixon is owned by a Japanese brand and their irons are made in the country.

The owner of Srixon was acquired by Cleveland, but I doubt that has changed anything.

Is Srixon Made by Titleist?

According to an official document, the Srixon brand is a subsidiary of SRI Sports Limited, which is a Sumitomo Rubber Industries, which is a Japanese brand.

Accordingly, the brand isn’t owned by Titleist.

So, it’s safe to say that Titleist (as well as other brands like Callaway) is merely a competitor and equal player in the golf equipment manufacturing arena.

Cleveland Golf, on the other hand, is the only brand that has something to do with Srixon. This takes us to the next point:

Is Srixon Made by Cleveland Golf?

In 2007, Cleveland Golf acquired SRI Sports Limited, which owns and controls Srixon.

As you probably know, Cleveland also makes golf balls, clubs, and other accessories. So, it’s possible that some of Srixon’s golf equipment is manufactured by Cleveland.

What Golf Clubs are not Made in China?

There are not many golf clubs that are not made in China.

While it’s true that popular brands like Titleist, Callaway, etc., boast of their entire line being assembled in the USA.

However, some of these brands are gradually shifting to China as the cost of production there is far lower.

Couple with that offering a slighter better margin, most brands are willing to test the ground in China.

Some of these brands with the majority of their clubs being made outside of China include Wilson, Ping, Cobra, Tour Edge, Taylormade, Titleist, Callaway, etc.

Is Srixon Cheap and Inexpensive?

I would say that Srixon isn’t expensive compared to the likes of PXG, Ping, Taylormade, and the likes. So, if you’re looking for inexpensive golf equipment, you can trust Srixon.
